The Prayer Room is at the center of everything we do at Frontier Alaska Missions. Our greatest desire is to create a resting place where God is pleased to dwell (Ps. 132). Jesus said, "My house will be a house of prayer for all the nations" (Mark 11:17) Therefore, prayer is the starting line and the finish line when it comes to reaching the villages of Alaska.
Throughout history we see evidence that prayer is directly linked to the effective proclamation of the gospel (Acts 4:31, 13:1-3; Eph. 6:19; col. 4:3; 1 Thess. 5:17; 2 Thess. 3:1; Phil. 6). Prayer is also the catalyst for every revival throughout history. D.L. Moody said it best, "Every great movement of God can be traced back to kneeling figures."
Prayer will start this movement and prayer will sustain this movement. We believe that prayer and worship must be the daily and continual posture of effective followers of Jesus. Therefore, we desire for all of life to be devoted to prayer and worship, trusting that the overflow will lead to the gospel being declared and displayed and souls being saved.
For the City
We serve the city by regularly praying for the church and the city of Wasilla. Anyone is welcome to come to experience the ministry of God’s presence in our prayer room as we host a context for corporate agreement and unity among the churches in the city. In addition, we host a weekly regional gathering on Tuesday nights for those who are hungry for worship, prayer, and missions.
By the City
In addition to our FAM staff serving in our prayer room, we desire that there would be a coalition of many local ministries and churches joining together with us every week to keep an ongoing presence of worship and intercession in our city. It’s a beautiful expression of creativity and unity within diversity. Our worship and prayer together increases the spirit of unity among the churches of the city and strengthens the relationships between many believers and congregations.
To the Villages
We believe that Wasilla is to be a city that sings of the worth of Jesus and sends to the villages of Alaska. We view our Prayer Room as a greenhouse for laborers to encounter Jesus, receive kingdom assignments, and be sent singing into the villages. These worshipping missionaries are sent from the greenhouse of our Prayer Room into the hardest and darkest places to pray, preach and sing; dispelling darkness with light as Jesus is exalted day and night.
